Market share of photovoltaic glass cover sheets of different thicknesses
According to CPIA, the thickness of photovoltaic glass cover currently on the market is divided into specifications less than or equal to 2.5mm, 2.8mm, and 3.2mm. Among them, photovoltaic glass less than or equal to 2.5mm is mainly used in double glass modules. In 2020, the 3.2mm front cover photovoltaic glass module has the highest market share, about 71.3 percent . It is expected that the thickness of photovoltaic glass will be reduced in the future. First of all, thinner photovoltaic glass can reduce the weight of the entire photovoltaic module, thereby greatly reducing the cost of manufacturing, transportation, and installation of the module. Secondly, thinner photovoltaic glass can reduce the weight of the entire photovoltaic module. Improve the light transmittance of photovoltaic modules, thereby greatly improving the photoelectric conversion efficiency. According to CPIA, with the advancement of technology, the market share of photovoltaic glass with a thickness of 3.2mm will decrease in the future, and the market share of photovoltaic glass with a thickness of 2.5mm and below will increase. In our subsequent calculations, because the ratio of the thickness of the different glass cover plates is close to the ratio of single-glass and double-glass modules, in the following calculations, we uniformly assume that single-glass modules use 3.5mm photovoltaic glass cover plates, and double-glass modules use 2.5mm photovoltaic glass cover.
